Hello! We are Kyndra and Larry Georgeson, cofounders of the Denver-based interior design firm, Kyndra Georgeson Interiors (formally Platinum Design Studio). Georgeson Style is our new blog dedicated to all things interiors, design and creating the space you love to live in.
My passion for interior design began at an early age when I found myself constantly switching up my Barbie house and bedroom. As I grew older, I would sneak items from around my house to rearrange accessories and furniture. I loved the process of blending objects, textures and colors in a room to fit the way I felt. This desire to “create spaces” only grew stronger, so I turned it into my career.
I received my Degree in Interior Design from Kansas State University and headed to beautiful Colorado. After several years working for local design firms, including Knoll, and meeting my handy husband, I knew it was time to do my own thing. In 2004, I opened Platinum Design Studio which has successfully serviced residential and commercial clients throughout metro Denver. Thirteen years later, Larry and I are onto our next adventure with a new brand, a new blog and many exciting design projects in the works.
I grew up helping my dad “DIY” portions of the homes we lived in. I spent my younger years on the Western Slope of Colorado, and at age 12, my family moved to Denver’s Park Hill neighborhood. After graduating from the University of Colorado, Boulder, I moved to Southern California where I began refurbishing large yachts. It was there that I realized my love for creating, building and bringing structures to life was more than just a hobby. In 1995, I headed back to Denver and met Kyndra. Soon after, I cofounded Catalina Trading Company, which imported reclaimed wood, furniture, and accessories from Southeast Asia, and sold them wholesale across the Western US. Since 2004, I have managed the large Platinum Design Studio projects and will continue to do so with Kyndra Georgeson Interiors.
We believe that family is the soul of a home. We adopted our daughter from China in 2006 and our son from Nepal in 2010. Our experience with adopting children from the other side of the world has exposed us to culture, design, art, and family tradition that directly influences our approach to design and life. When we aren’t working, we are exploring Colorado, traveling the country, searching for treasures to refurbish and cheering our kids on in soccer, lacrosse and art.
Georgeson Style proudly supports Nature’s Educators and Nepal Adoptive Families Association. We are committed to supporting organizations and initiatives that create positive change around the corner and across the globe.
